A company named ITC Ltd has secured the LEED platinum rating for its luxury hotels making it one of the greenest chains of luxury hotels globally. This rating might give these luxury hotels a lead in energy and environmental design for the highest standards of energy, water and waste efficiency.
This rating to the luxury hotels was awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council which aims at making buildings greener according to the environmental norms. The platinum certification has been awarded to the ITC luxury hotels as well as properties situated in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Agra. ITC's executive director Nakul Anand, was in the opinion that the platinum rating demonstrates the ideology of responsible luxury adopted by ITC'S hotel division.

In order to support its staff both professionally and personally Sofitel Luxury hotels has launched its Ambassador program for its 25,000 employees. The aim is to promote each employee as an ambassador of Sofitel Luxury Hotels.
According to Magali Laurent, Vice President Human Resources, Sofitel Worldwide, this has been planned as a long term project, with the prime aim of making each employee, a brand ambassador, of Sofitel luxury Hotels.
The program is visualized in 3 steps. The first is management training. Under this program managers of Sofitel Luxury Hotels, will be imparting training to students, from 15 chosen hotel schools, for 12 to 18 months.
In the second module, Sofitel Luxury Hotels will be providing training on the company's values like spirit of openness and a zeal for excellence. In the final phase they are commissioned under a manager or trainer in their respective functional area.
